1. (if not set already) Go to Logic Pro -> Key Commands -> Edit... menu, search for Tap Tempo in Global section, and assign a key to it (something like Command+Shift+Spacebar would work)
2. Go to File -> Project Settings -> Synchronisation and check the Auto-Enable external sync and Tap Tempo checkbox
3. Now tap assigned key (Command+Shift+Spacebar) 5 times to get the tempo recognised and set for project.
